Children & Young People: Accepting Others

The commonly used word for accepting others is tolerance. Sometimes our tolerance is challenged when we have to share our space on the planet with others who are just like us on the inside, but who look differently, think differently and behave differently.

Interestingly our brains are wired in a way to like what’s the same and notice what’s different, so it’s not a great surprise that differences freak us the fudge out.

You don’t have to agree with someone else’s way of life, you certainly don’t have to agree with them, but in the interests of being a good and happy human being, it would be fabulous if you could at least tolerate them.
