In my work with NLP4Kids, I have established programmes to help children manage their own emotional state and to become inspired and motivated by the opportunities life presents them. I teach them how to build valuable relationships, confidence, self esteem and how to eliminate troubling past events. I believe every child has the right to reach their potential and through the coaching and NLP techniques I use they can reap huge rewards for themselves, their family and those around them.
In conjunction with NLP4Kids I run workshops in schools for children, parents and or teachers. These same workshops can also be helpful for parents in or out of the school environment. In many cases one to one sessions can be held for children within the school but I also work with children on a on to one basis having been contacted directly by parents.
I can help your child with issues over a family bereavement, stressing out over exams, anxiety, phobias, trying to deal with a parental split or perhaps the arrival of a new sibling was unlikely to find resolution in the school environment. These issues often cannot be addressed by even the most caring school system through a lack of time and resources. These are the areas to name just a few in which I can help.
While my children were going through school I had various meetings and discussions with teachers over issues that came up. Like all of us I discussed many of these same issues with other parents. The secondary school teachers we met generally were hard pressed to meet curriculum demands and some children’s needs were likely to slip through the net.
As an experienced businessman I am used to identifying and finding resolution for situations of all kinds. This practical approach helps me get to the root of issues swiftly. Throughout my time in business I have frequently seen the difficulties caused by unaddressed childhood issues. Very often in the past when dealing with staff and clients alike I have had to resolve deep rooted misconceptions and challenging behaviour borne out of childhood experiences.
Most of my working life has been spent as an estate agent, running my own business since 1998. I have previously been a publican, a banker, a door to door salesman and a few other things besides.
Together with my wife, a nurse, I have two fantastic adult children, a cat (Milo) and a husky dog (Nala). We have worked and lived in Aylesbury most of our lives, my son now lives in Sydney.
I was first introduced to a limited form of NLP by Simon Edwards about 10 years ago. The insights and practical methods it provided have always fascinated me. In 2013 I met Gemma Bailey at an introductory day for her business NLP4kids and have been hooked ever since, qualifying as an NLP practitioner early in 2017. I have since become a licensed NLP4kids practitioner.

How Does Our Therapy Help Children and Young People?
We use a combination of safe and effective therapies with children and teenagers that help them learn how to control their thoughts, emotions and behaviour. Our practitioners are specialists in working with children using a form of therapy called NLP. This stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming. "Neuro" relates to the brain and "linguistic" refers to language and how it is used inside the mind and out of the mouth! "Programming" describes the patterns and habits created, learnt and followed. Using NLP techniques and strategies, (which we have adapted to be fun, safe and easy for children and teenagers to use) we give young people the skills to think in new ways so that they feel in control and learn to understand the world from the perspective of others as well as their own. NLP is a cognitive form of therapy, with some parallels to CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy.) Our work is effective in helping children overcome bad habits, behaviour problems, fears and self esteem problems as well as many other challenges. (See the list below for more suggestions about the types of problems we can help with.)
In addition, our practitioners may have qualifications in other specialist therapies, such as EFT/TFT (tapping techniques), Coaching, Counselling and Hypnotherapy for children.
Hypnosis is perfectly safe for children because it is a relaxed state that they already utilise when learning, watching television or doing something creative. Some children will be able to experience a deep, eyes closed relaxing trance. Young children are usually more suited to an awakened trance. This is induced when playing games, colouring or whilst other activities that our Hypnotherapy4Kids practitioners have been trained to use. Our Hypnotherapists will notice the subtle shifts in your child’s levels of awareness so that they can begin to implant suggestions for change or improvement as soon as they see that an awakened trance is achieved.
The first step in helping your child is to contact a practitioner who is local to you. You can call them on the number above or complete the contact box below if you would like the practitioner to contact you. They will conduct a consultation with you, either over the phone or in person. Once they have understood the challenges your child is facing, they will invite you and your child to meet with them. If you decide to go ahead with some therapy or coaching sessions for your child, the therapist will advise you of the best course of action. Your therapist will give you feedback and advise to help you support your child and you will remain in full control of the number of sessions you book and how often. [Read Less]
